4 Fashion Mistakes You’re Probably Making

Fashion is one of those things that may seem like a constant in the moment, yet it can change faster than the weather. Something that is extremely in style today may be on a list of fashion flops in a week from now. The truth is that even the savviest and most stylish of dressers can get it wrong once in a while.

If you’ve been feeling like your outfits just aren’t quite sitting right recently, then here are some mistakes you may likely be making.

Dressing “Your Age”

Although there may be a general consensus that some styles are only allowed at a certain age, the truth is that this is a lie. Someone over the age of 80 can dress however they want if they are feeling great in it and if their loved ones are rooting them on.

Embrace whatever style you want and don’t be afraid to go for it! Sticking to an outdated or unflattering style simply because it’s the so-called style of your age bracket is ridiculous! Be true to you!

Wearing Ill-Fitting Clothing

Unless you’re intentionally going for a baggy look or want to look like a stuffed sausage, there’s no reason to wear clothing that isn’t your size. Not only does it look unflattering, but you’re going to be uncomfortable! Whether the clothing is falling off of you or is squeezing you tight, there’s no need to wear ill fitting clothing. Take the time to find pieces that fit well and suit your body type. Otherwise, you may want to invest a little money in getting your clothes professionally tailored.

Wearing Drab Colors

Sticking to a single color palette full of boring and muted colors it’s no fun. Don’t be afraid to play around with a few different nuances and shades and have fun while you’re doing it! That’s not to say you can’t wear neutral colors if you feel like it, however, you should absolutely play around with different patterns and color shades if that’s what your instinct is telling you to do.

Perhaps most important is wearing colors that suit your skin tone. Certain colors can make you look overly red, while other ones can make you look pale and lifeless. Get to know your own personal color palette and you’d be surprised to see how many compliments you get.

Panty Lines

We get it—you love your big comfy ”granny panties.” Chances are they let everything breathe, and they don’t squeeze you or make you feel restricted. However, what you may not realize is that visible panty lines can distract from your overall appearance and make you look less polished. Nobody wants to see your panty lines in a beautiful pair of pants or a dress! You want to get seamless underwear, otherwise, opt for a string.
